The 9th EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair Held in Chengdu

 

  The 9th EU-China Business & Technology Cooperation Fair was held in Jinjiang Hotel, Chengdu on Oct. 22, 2014, and over 600 guests were present in the opening ceremony, including government officials as well as organization and EU-China enterprise representatives from 25 EU countries, such as France, Germany and Belgium, as well as representatives of Consulate General of Germany in Chengdu, Consulate General of France in Chengdu and Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing. Antti Peltomäki, deputy director general of European Commission Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General made a speech on behalf of the EU, and Zhong Mian, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor and Zhu Zhihong, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor respectively made welcome speeches on behalf of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Chengdu Municipal People’s Government.

  With a theme of “Joining hands, West and East to renew the Silk Road” and focusing on the national strategy of Silk Road Economic Belt Construction, and the objective of strengthening the economic and trade exchange and cooperation with Central and Middle European Countries, this EU-China B&T Cooperation Fair would hold a Theme Forum on Cooperation between West China and Central and Middle Europe, EU-China Innovation Cluster Cooperation Seminar, EU-China ICT Innovation Cooperation Seminar, EU-China Modern Hi-tech Agriculture Seminar, EU-China General Aviation Seminar, European Enterprise Network (EEN) Global Partners Conference, EU-China B2B & Cluster to Cluster Meeting, to fully enhance the comprehensive cooperation between Sichuan, especially Chengdu and the EU members in investment, trade, technology etc., and create new breakthroughs in EU-China Cooperation.
