The 2nd Advanced Exhibition Training of China’s Convention and Exhibition Industry Held in Chengdu

  The 2nd Advanced Convention Exhibition Training of China’s Convention and Exhibition Industry, jointly hosted by the Department of Trade in Services and Commercial Services, Ministry of Commerce and the World 2nd Largest exhibition company – UBM, was held in Chengdu on Oct. 20, 2014. Lv Jijian, vice director of the Department of Trade in Services and Commercial Services, Ministry of Commerce made an opening speech, Xiao Hongfei, UBM Chinese chief representative host this activity, and over 70 guests participated in this activity, including over 10 leading enterprise representatives in convention and exhibition from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang and Qingdao and other domestic cities and over 10 Chengdu local enterprises, such as Chengdu New East Exhibition Co., Ltd., Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Chamber of Commerce Suppliers.

  This training is our practical measure to further deepen cooperative mechanism after signing the strategic cooperation MOU with UBM in this May, aiming at sharing the advanced theories and experience on convention an exhibition industry with international standards, and further enhancing the professional level of convention and exhibition practitioners. The one-day course was taught by UBM’s global advanced managers and exhibition experts, such as Ben Veechai, international marketing manager of UBM Asia, Jimé Essink, president and CEO of UBM Asia and Ma Ying, general manager of UBM China, with various topics on “the key to attract international customers”, “exhibition marketing under all-media environment”, “providing better services for exhibitors, visitors and organizers through mobile technology” and “adapting to the changing pattern of China’s exhibition industry”, using attractive videos, pictures and words and integrating with real cases in convention and exhibition industry, and sharing the best practices in globalized exhibition strategies and operation with the students.

  After the training, vice director Lv Jijian, chief representative Xiao Hongfei, president of China Convention and Exhibition Society Yuan Zaiqing and other leaders issued training certificate to the qualified students.
